「快速檢測」與「低成本檢測」技術之新知分享
Next Generation Diagnostics for Infectious Diseases Workshop

「The 14th International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases in the Pacific Rim」於2010年10月4至7日在馬來西亞檳城舉行。此年會是由美國國家衛生研究院（National Institutes of Health, NIH）主辦，會議討論主軸為應用於感染症的「快速檢測技術」與「低成本檢測技術」之發展。在此，將會議中提到的兩項分子檢測技術：(1) Metagenomic Diagnosis、(2) Nucleic Acid Diagnostic Test for Low Resources Settings (Loop-mediated isothermal amplification of cDNA, LAMP)，分別描述如下：

Metagenomic Analysis
此技術可以應用於未知感染症的診斷，包含3個部分：(1) 以rapid determination技術增幅未知的核酸；(2) 再以next-generation sequencer快速定序；(3) 最後藉由BLASTN search分析序列為何致病原。 〈更多內容〉
