氫鍵網路對於吲哚胺2,3-雙加氧酶（IDO1）抑制劑設計的重要性
NHRI researcher reports the importance of hydrogen bond networks in indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 ( IDO1) inhibitor design

癌症免疫療法是促進患者免疫功能，進而啟動攻擊機制，達到殺死癌細胞的目的。最近，癌症免疫療法有許多新的突破，為癌症患者帶來一線生機。Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1（IDO1）在免疫治療上是一個重要的藥物標靶，它是透過催化色胺酸（tryptophan）代謝來調控T細胞的免疫反應。目前也有許多研究是以IDO為分子標靶，進行新藥開發。在小分子抑制劑領域中，目前發展最前端的是Incyte公司研發的Epacadostat（INCB24360），已進入臨床試驗第III期，結果顯示其可強化T淋巴球（T lymphocyte）、樹狀細胞（dendritic cell）及自然殺手細胞（natural killer T cells）的反應。Epacadostat與許多免疫療法的生物藥或激酶抑制劑合併使用，對於治療惡性或轉移的腫瘤方面具有優越的抑制成效，並已進入臨床研究階段。除了Epacadostat，Newlink公司研發後技轉給基因泰克（Genetech）公司的IDO1抑制劑GDC-0919，不論是在酵素或細胞活性的抑制方面，也顯示具有極佳的抑制效果，目前已進入臨床試驗第I期，用於治療復發的晚期癌症的固體性腫瘤（recurrent advanced solid tumor）。〈更多內容〉

癌症研究所夏興國助研究員升等為副研究員
Dr. Shine-Gwo Shiah of the National Institute of Cancer Research has been promoted to Associate Investigator

本院癌症研究所夏興國博士自2016年10月1日起升等為副研究員。

夏博士於1999年取得國立台灣大學醫學院毒理學研究所博士學位，之後加入本院院長實驗室擔任博士後研究員，博士後研究期間主要致力於癌症轉移（cancer metastasis）及血管生成（angiogenesis）之機轉研究。因表現優異，於2003年擔任癌症研究所（以下簡稱癌研所）協同研究員，主要研究癌症表觀遺傳（cancer epigenetic regulation），並於2008年獲聘為助研究員。

擔任助研究員期間，夏博士加入癌研所口腔癌研究團隊，並建立微核醣核酸癌症研究室（The Laboratory for miRNA Cancer Research），致力於探討miRNA對口腔癌形成及惡化的機轉探討，並嘗試建立具有診斷及預後價值的miRNA生物標記（miRNA biomarker）。〈更多內容〉

Position Open: Director, Institute of Molecular and Genomic Medicine

Applications and nominations are invited for the position of Director of Institute of Molecular and Genomic Medicine at the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan.

The Director is responsible for supervision of research programs within the institute, as well as for research collaboration with other sections of NHRI and outside institutions. Prospective candidates should have strong organizational, communicative, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with others at all levels inside and outside of NHRI. Applicants should have a doctorate (Ph.D. and/or M.D.) in biomedical sciences, molecular biology, genomics or related research fields and demonstrate a successful record of conducting interdisciplinary research.〈更多內容〉
