第11屆亞洲臨床腫瘤學會研討會暨第19屆台灣癌症聯合年會會議報導
Report on the 11th International Conference of the Asian Clinical Oncology Society in conjunction with the 19th Taiwan Joint Cancer Conference

癌症躍居為全球主要死因首位，嚴重威脅人類健康及耗損國家醫療資源。而有別於歐美地區，亞洲區國家有其特殊性之癌症疾病存在；有鑑於此，亞洲臨床腫瘤學會（Asian Clinical Oncology Society, ACOS）於1991年創立，最初由亞洲10個國家代表組成，至今已擴展至17個會員國。每2年由會員國輪流負責舉辦亞洲腫瘤學術年會，邀集各國癌症專家相互交流癌症新知及治癌經驗，促進腫瘤醫學研究與治療之進步。

台灣之癌症醫學社團在早期即被邀請參加並參與創立ACOS，為ACOS之創始會員。多年來，台灣癌症醫學社團皆派員參與盛會及參與運作，並曾於2001年由癌症聯合年會主辦第5屆ACOS會議。台灣再度爭取到2014年第11屆大會主辦權，由衛生福利部指導、中華民國癌症醫學會主辦，並由本院及16家癌症相關醫學會共同參與協辦。「第11屆亞洲臨床腫瘤學會國際研討會暨第19屆台灣癌症聯合年會（TJCC）」已於2014年5月2至4日假台北國際會議中心召開，總計來自27個國家、超過2,600人參與盛會，大會圓滿落幕。
　　
大會主題為「癌症治療的新畛域－亞洲腫瘤學家的挑戰」，演講規劃亞洲地區主要癌症等各類議題，總計邀請超過250位學者專家，進行4場keynote speeches、3場award lectures、5場meet the professors、35場scientific lectures、12場luncheon symposiums及9場satellite symposiums專題演講，以及6場oral presentations。藉由國際會議的舉辦，向國外知名機構及學者宣揚台灣之癌症學術及臨床研究成果，增強本國與國際研究接軌、促進國際癌症試驗合作與建立國際醫學聲譽。
　　
本院有數位研究員受邀於此次大會演講：龔行健院長於keynote speech之專題演講為「Metabolism and cancer therapeutics: Targeting arginine addiction of cancers」；Gastrointestinal tract (non-colon) cancer session中，癌症研究所陳立宗代理所長演講「Update medical treatment for advanced biliary tract cancer、張俊彥特聘研究員（成大醫學院院長）演講「D-Penicillamine exerts synergism with platinum drugs through modulation of the expression of copper transporters in oxaliplatin-resistant human gastric cancer cells」、常慧如副研究員演講「Current controversies in the management of locally advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma」；感染症與疫苗研究所劉士任博士於Gynecologic oncology議題演講「Protein-based immunotherapy for HPV associated cancer」。
　　
日本Kobayashi Foundation for Cancer Research於每屆ACOS會議提供亞洲臨床腫瘤研究大獎，該獎項主要頒發給亞洲臨床腫瘤研究傑出科學家，以獎勵並肯定該研究者在癌症研究卓著之貢獻。本院癌症研究所陳立宗所長今年以「Developing novel treatment strategies for gastrointestinal cancers – Progress in the management of pancreatic adenocarcinoma」研究於亞洲各國傑出腫瘤專家中脫穎而出，榮獲「第3屆Kobayashi Foundation Award」之肯定，並於會中之專題演講為「Clinical trial-guiding treatment strategies for pancreatic adenocarcinoma in Taiwan」。

大會並規劃研究論文投稿競賽，本院癌症研究所黃建彰博士以「Mitochondria-dependent apoptosis occurs downstream of autophagy-regulated early ROS production Via xanthine oxidase in response to aathepsin S inhibition」及感染症與疫苗研究所鄧喬方博士以「HBV Pre-S2 mutant induces GLUT1-mediated aerobic glycolysis through mTOR signal cascade to promote tumorigenesis」研究，榮獲ACOS Merit Award獎項。TJCC基礎轉譯優秀論文獎方面，癌症研究所陳靜儀博士以「Up-regulation of stromal indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase by cyclooxygenase-2-overexpressing breast cancer cells promotes tumor progression」研究榮獲第二名、癌症研究所李家惠助研究員以「Cigarette smoke changes the methylome and induces the silencing of LDOC1 in oral cell」研究榮獲優選獎、癌症研究所薛元碩博士以「Combination of NVP-AUY922 with an autophagy inducer enhances autophagy-mediated kit degradation and cell deaths in imatinib-resistant gastrointestinal stromal tumors」研究榮獲佳作獎。

大會於會議期間每日出版英文版Daily News，各議題安排相關領域專家撰寫演講重點，由本院癌症研究所TCOG同仁負責統整編稿，本院英文編輯室Mark Swofford主任協助潤稿，每日即時報導前日之熱門議題演講內容和隔日重點預告（ http://www.acos2014.org/）。
