Position Open: Director, National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences

Applications and nominations are invited for the position of Director of National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) at the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan. We are looking for a forward and innovative thinker who has global perspective and the understanding of the major international issues on environmental health and occupational medicine. In addition to overseeing intramural programs within NIEHS and promoting research collaborations with other institutes, the Director is expected to communicate effectively with government and public.

The candidate is expected to have:
  1. Ph.D., M.D., or both, with background in environmental health, occupational medicine, toxicology, food safety or related research fields.
  2. Demonstrated record of successful funding and high quality publications in peer reviewed journals.
  3. Strong leadership and mentoring experiences.
  4. Ability to develop effective strategic plan and to lead a productive multidisciplinary team.
  5. Proficiency in Mandarin (preferred) and familiarity with scientific and medical community in Taiwan.
Interested applicants are asked to submit complete curriculum vitae, reprints of three selected publications, statement of research expertise (one or two A4 pages) and a brief description on future research goals and strategic plan to develop NIEHS.
