Position Open: Director, National Institute of Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology


Applicants and nominations are invited for the position of Director of the National Institute of Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology (NIIDV) at the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan. The NIIDV conducts research on infectious diseases, development of vaccines and operation of a bioproduction plant.

The Director is responsible for supervision of research and development programs within the institute, as well as collaborations with other sections of NHRI, with government, and with scientific, medical or industrial partners. Eligible applicants should have a doctorate (Ph.D. and/or M.D.) degree with a strong record of productive, interdisciplinary research in infectious disease and vaccine discovery/development. Prospective candidates are also expected to have strong organizational, administrative, communicative and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated abilities to lead a productive multidisciplinary team and develop effective strategic plan.

Familiarity with Taiwan’s public health system and scientific/medical community, proficiency in Chinese language, the ability to work effectively in Taiwan’s research environment are desirable. Industrial experience is welcome.
